Movie lovers and trade circles are eagerly and anxiously waiting for the biggest box office clash in recent times to unfold this Christmas festive season. Pan-India star Prabhas’ Salaar and Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki will be locking horns with each other amid sky high expectations and with over Rs 1,000 crores riding on them. While Dunki is gearing up for its grand world theatrical release on December 21, Salaar is scheduled to open in cinemas the following day (Dec 22).
Meanwhile, since yesterday evening, there has been a massive negative trend going against Dunki on social media. The ongoing buzz hints that Dunki’s makers and distributors have asked the North Indian single screen owners to allot maximum number of screens exclusively for Dunki. However, as per the latest and credible information, there is no truth to these rumors and both Salaar and Dunki are expected to receive a fair distribution in the number of screens.
Prabhas’ popularity increased by leaps and bounds after the historic pan-Indian success of the Baahubali franchise. And the film being KGF helmer Prashanth Neel directorial, the hype around Salaar has now reached an unprecedented level.
On the other hand, Shah Rukh delivered two back-to-back industry hits this year with Pathaan and Jawan. The King Khan’s fans are eagerly awaiting the arrival of his first-ever project with Bollywood’s hit machine and acclaimed filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani.
