As Salaar finishes its successful run at the box office, fans anxiously await its release on the OTT platform Netflix. There were recent rumours that suggested that Netflix has purchased the film’s digital rights in all five languages for a whopping Rs 162 crore. There were some earlier reports that suggested that Salaar might be released on Netflix in January, coinciding with the celebratory event of Sankranthi on January 12. And then the new date in circulation is 4th February.
According to reports, Salaar will finally be making its digital debut on the streaming giant Netflix on 20th January, from tonight. The digital deal with Netflix marks a record-breaking figure, making it the highest-ever OTT deal for a South Indian film. This sudden move has taken everyone by surprise. As there were no new releases in theatres this weekend, Netflix thought about capturing this new release vacuum this week by releasing Salaar as it would be the primary choice for viewers
Salaar Ceasefire made with a budget of reportedly Rs 270 crore, has amassed close to Rs 700 Crores worldwide. Salaar has become one of the highest-grossing films of the year. The film has received well by the audience for its star-studded cast, high-octane action sequences, and fascinating plot. The second part Shauryaanga Parvam is expected to resume its shoot from Summer this year.
Salaar: Ceasefire – Part 1 stars Prabhas, Prithviraj Sukumaran, and Shruti Haasan, and is directed by Prashanth Neel. The film also stars Jagapathi Babu, Bobby Simha, Tinnu Anand, Easwari Rao, and Sriya Reddy in important roles. The film, produced by Vijay Kiragandur under the Hombale Films. Ravi Basrur composed the music while Bhuvan Gowda cranked the camera. Stunts were choreographed by Anbariv.
