Baahubali 2 and RRR from Tollywood earned more than 1000 crores gross at the global box office. The one thing we need to observe here is that Baahubali 2 did around 510 crores nett in Hindi, and RRR collected in the vicinity of 275 crores by the end of its run. Even KGF 2 did about 435 crores nett in Hindi, which helped the film cross 1000 crores gross globally.
The Hindi market is very huge, and only movies that can tap into this market can post bigger numbers. The same applies to Salaar as well, and if the movie needs to gross over 1000 crores, it must do exceptionally well here. As per the trade, Salaar amassed 15 crores nett on day one which is a decent opening.
Starting today, Salaar needs to post big numbers in the Hindi belt. Even RRR did 19 crores nett on day one and went on to collect 275 crores nett by the end of its run. So if Salaar can show positive trend from today it might well stand a chance to cross the four digit mark. Directed by Prashanth Neel, Salaar also features Prithviraj Sukumaran, Shruti Haasan, Jagapathi Babu, Sriya Reddy, and Eswari Rao in vital roles.
