Rebel star Prabhas-starrer Salaar Part 1 – Ceasefire is one of the hotly anticipated releases of the year. The fact that it marks the actor teaming up with Prashanth Neel, who is fresh off the massive success of KGF: Chapter 2, means that expectations on the project are sky-high. So it shouldn’t come as a surprise if it opens on a record note both in India and US, the latter of which is an important market for Telugu films outside India.
To this end, the latest we hear is that the film, whose plot details are scarce, will open on a gigantic note in the US. As per the film’s overseas distributor, Salaar will be storming into 1,979 plus locations when it releases this September 28. Also, USA premiers will be on the day before the film officially bows – Sept 27.
Bankrolled by Vijay Kiragandur under Hombale Films, Salaar Part 1 – Ceasefire, made on a staggering budget, is an action-thriller that also features Prithviraj Sukumaran, Jagapathi Babu, Shruti Haasan, Sriya Reddy, Eeshwari Rao and Tinu Anand. Prashanth’s frequent collaborator Ravi Basrur has composed music for this film as well. It will be released simultaneously in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi.
The film’s teaser was released recently and it has garnered over a record 83 million views in 24 hours.
