Prabhas or Rebel Star as he is more popularly referred to by his fans is going through the best phase in his career right now. Prabhas has cemented a place for himself as a pan Indian actor with Baahubali and Saaho and is probably the only South Indian actor to hold the reputation at the moment. Although Prabhas has a zealous fan following and a powerful screen presence, the Saaho actor is actually media shy and an introvert who likes to keep to himself. Prabhas also calls his fans and close friends as darlings and that is why Prabhas is also referred to as darling by his fans.
As part of today’s throwback Thursday, we give you this video where Prabhas explains the story behind the word darling. In the video Prabhas is asked why he likes to use the word darling to which he responds by saying he calls every guy and girl with the same name following which Anushka chips in saying Prabhas calls his close ones as darling. The interviewer also asks if there is some sentiment behind darling considering there is a movie and song based on it named Darling and Darlingey Darlingey respectively. Prabhas responds by saying he never believes in superstitions and goes on to say that Devi Sri Prasad and himself call each other darling. As their friendship deepened, they began to call each other daaarrrrlinge instead of darling. This was the basis for the song Darlingey which was composed by DSP. Watch the video below.
