SS Rajamouli said that his lead actor Prabhas was confident since the beginning that Baahubali will do very well.
Baahubali: The Beginning broke box office records and made SS Rajamouli one of the most sought-after directors in the country. In fact, though Baahubali: The Conclusion's release date is almost here, fans can't wait to know why Katappa killed Baahubali. The filmmaker opened up about the epic saga at the book launch of Anand Neelakantan's The Rise of Sivagami, which is a prequel to the Baahubali films.
Rajamouli said that his journey as a director has had its share of highs and lows, but when it came to Baahubali, it was his lead actor Prabhas who believed in the film since the beginning. "Prabhas had utmost confidence in the film from day one of the shoot. He kept insisting that we are making an international film. He pushed and motivated us," he said.
He also revealed at the event that his magnum opus will not be released in 3D, because "3D gives depth, but doesn't capture the scale." Producer Shobu Yarlagadda also said that visual effects are a major part of the film, but it is the content which will bring audience to the theatres.
Baahubali: The Conclusion will release on April 28, reportedly across 6500 screens. The film stars Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Tamannaah, Sathyaraj and Ramya Krishnan.
