Upon its theatrical release, Adipurush was mocked and trolled for twisting the Ramayan and dumping it with wrong casting, poor dialogue, bad VFX, etc. The younger generation who watched the epic on the screen openly criticized the movie.
Adipurush Story
As known for ages, Adipurush is the story of Ayodhya's prince Raghava (Prabhas) and his brother Lakshmana (Sunny Singh). Raghava's wife Janaki (Kriti Sanon) is kidnapped by Lankesh (Saif Ali Khan) and taken to Lanka. Raghava and Lakshmana head to Lanka to save Janaki. How does Raghava take on Lankesh forms the rest of the story?
Adipurush Box Office Collection
The advance bookings for Adipurush witnessed a mad rush once they were made available for the film buffs. The tickets were sold like hotcakes across the Hindi belt, and down south, in the two Telugu-speaking states, the movie enjoyed great openings. However, in Tamil Nadu, people didn't vibe to the 'Jai Shriram' movie.
The movie made a non-theatrical pre-release business of about Rs 240 Crore. About 6 lakh tickets were sold out of which, 1.5 lakh tickets were distributed for free.
In three days, the total box office collection stands at Rs 216 Crore (India) and earned about Rs 300 Crore worldwide. The occupancy ratio for Adipurush was about 61.75 percent on the opening weekend as many of them have already booked their tickets to watch the film on the big screen.
The enthusiasm and intrigue around the level of mockery and criticism also drove people to theatres to experience the wild take on Ramayana, by Om Raut.
Adipurush Cast
In the movie based on the Indian mythological epic Ramayana, Prabhas played the role of Raghava, and Kriti Sanon was seen in the character of Janaki. Saif Ali Khan played the Lankesh, Sunny Singh as Lakshmana, Devdatta Nage as Bajrang, and Vatsal Sheth as Indrajit. In addition, actresses Sonal Chauhan and Trupti Toradmal played important roles in the film.

Adipurush is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Om Raut, Prasad Sutar, and Rajesh Nair under the T-Series Films and Retrophiles banner. The movie's cinematography was handled by Karthik Palani, and Editing was done by Apurva Motiwale Sahai and Ashish Mhatre together.
While Adipurush's background score was rendered by Sanchit Balhara and Ankit Balhara, the movie's tunes and songs are composed by Ajay-Atul and Sachet-Parampara.
