The high octane action film Saaho, starring Prabhas and Shraddha Kapoor, grossed Rs. 424 crores worldwide and Rs. 300 crore plus net in India alone in all the languages in which it was released. The collections turned Saaho into a commercially successful venture by the end of the second week of its release.
Saaho is definitely a commercial blockbuster at the box office, with the movie releasing not only in Hindi, but also in Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam. The Hindi version of Saaho received a roaring response in Karnataka and Hyderabad although it released on limited screens and garnered Rs. 5.80 crores and Rs. 3.40 crores in the respective areas. The net collection of the Hindi version alone in the South is Rs. 9.20 crores and in the North is Rs. 140 crores, taking the total to Rs. 149.20 crores.
The numbers are definitely depicting Prabhas as the undisputed pan India star, a testimony to this are the film’s collections across the Nation. The Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam versions of the film collected Rs. 110.4 crores net in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. In Karnataka, Saaho collected Rs. 26.30 crores and in Tamil Nadu & Kerala, the movie marked Rs. 13.80 crores net, thereby collecting Rs. 150.5 crores net in South India alone.
The magic of Prabhas’ stardom has no boundaries as the film is doing great in the overseas market too. The numbers look great, with the collections in North America standing at $ 3.2 million, in the Gulf countries at $ 4 million, in Australia and New Zealand at $ 1.3 million, in the U.K., & Europe at $ 0.8 million and in other countries at $ 2 million. These collections took the overseas gross total of Saaho to $ 11.3 million, whereas the overseas rights were sold for Rs. 42 crores.
The digital, satellite and music rights were sold by the production house for Rs. 130 crores.
Saaho has easily recovered the production cost with its 2nd nationwide weekend collections. The huge fan following of Prabhas has proved time and again Prabhas is an undisputed pan India superstar.
